WHO WE ARE

Dr. CJ’s IMPACT Lab represents an interdisciplinary team of researchers (community stakeholders, sickle cell community, faculty) who are committed to advancing health equity for adolescents and young adults living with sickle cell disease. Led by Dr. Dora Clayton-Jones, members of the research lab aim to help youth increase their capacity to care for themselves, for self-management, and experience an improved overall quality of life.

"IMPACT" (Innovative Methods for Promoting Action, Community, and Transformation) underscores our commitment to conducting research that enhances health outcomes and drives community action and transformation. Our goal is to advance health equity by incorporating innovative approaches that promote social justice and foster meaningful change.

 

Dr. Clayton-Jones, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC, FAAN

Director and Principal Investigator

An Associate Professor and community-engaged scholar at Marquette University in the College of Nursing. She engages the community and recipients of interventions in developing, implementing, and evaluating research that supports self-management for adolescents and young adults living with sickle cell disease.
